"There's nothing more wonderful than a decent night's sleep. It recharges the batteries, repairs the body and leaves us feeling refreshed and ready to face each new day."
Never has there been a more cruel and untrue statement for a fibromyalgia patient to hear.

I read recently that experts warn anything less than eight hours of quality sleep each night can reduce your life expectancy. I don't know how they worked it out, or even if there's any truth in it, but there have been many nights in my life that I would wish for the grim reaper to take me just so I could fall asleep!
Willing myself to die in order to get to sleep sounds a bit extreme, but if you have spent years of being exhausted and in pain during the day and then unable to sleep at night, I'm pretty sure you'd feel the same way. |
